Competitors register for the race as a team of 3 runners. They apply regardless of gender and age, respecting all the above for the 10 km race.
Relays are divided into categories:
- Male
- Women
- Mixed women plus (2 women and 1 man)
- Mixed male plus (2 men and 1 woman)
The relay is divided into 3 sections of one lap each. Each competitor runs one section. A competitor starts his section when a competitor from his team who ran the previous section runs up to him and touches him with his hand in the designated area on the track itself. Competitors who run the first section start together with other competitors of the Main Race.
All other rules and responsibilities apply as well as for the Main 10 km race, with the exception that competitors who are 10 years old on the day of the race may take part in the family relay races. Competitors aged 14 and under must have written parental consent or a valid medical examination.
Competitors in the relay race each receive two identical numbers and place one on their back and one on their chest. The reason for this is the visible difference between relay teams and individual runners.
